J, E AND L REGULATORS PURPOSE: GIVES EXTRA POWER BOOST DURING HIGH LOAD When engine load is low and manifold vacuum is high, the VPV is held closed by the strong manifold vacuum signal. When the engine load is high and manifold vacuum is low, the weak manifold vacuum signal allows the VPV to open and richen the air fuel ratio.
